Detailed Itinerary



In the morning Local guide will come and pick you up at your hotel.

Drive out of Yangon to the ancient capital of Bagofor a visit.

Transfer for lunch at a local Restaurant.

Next, drive through seemingly endless paddy fields to the small town of Kyaikhto known as Golden Rock and on to the 'base camp' of Kinpun.

After a transfer by open truck (join-in system) up a rather bumpy track about nearly top to the mountain.

From here, walk up the path which climbs steeply to the legendary Golden Rockwhere you discover this exceptional pilgrimage site.

Weather permitting, admire the view from Mount Kyaiktiyo at sunset are stunning.

Dinner at hotel and overnight in Golden Rock.


After breakfast, walk down the mountain and return by truck down to the base camp at Kinpun, to your waiting vehicle.

Drive to Mawlamyine. On the way, take a glance form the car window.

Upon arrival, transfer to the local restaurant for Lunch.

Then drive to your hotel for check in.

Later afternoon, if time permit, transfer to a small boat jetty. Take a local motor boat to visit GaungseKyunn also known as Shampoo Island. In the middle of the Thanlwin River lies this charming island. The name originates from the Ava period, when water from a holy spring here was used for an annual royal hair washing ceremony.

Dinner at local restaurant.

Drive back to hotel and overnight in Mawlamyine.


Breakfast at hotel.

Drive to Mawlamyaine’s 2nd and biggest fresh local market: Enjoy a leisurely walk through the colorful market, one of the attractions place for a foreign visitor.

From here transfer to BiluKyunn, or Ogre Island. Visit home industries making rubber bands, wooden pipes, stone slates and other items for everyday life.

Lunch at the local restaurant.

Early afternoon, return to Mawlamyine. Then, depart to Hpa An. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for check-in.

Dinner at hotel and overnight in Hpa An.

After breakfast, depart to Saddan Cave, a hollow-type cave with two entrances with many stalactites / stalagmites and a natural lake at one end of the cave, which suits itself for some great photos. Due to its remoteness there are very few visitors here, which contributes to its charm.

Return to Hpa-Anand en route, visit a bamboo hat making house workshop.

Lunch at the local restaurant.

Afternoon, first visit Kawgun Cave, a very impressive open limestone cave with its main hall and rock face decorated with literally thousands and thousands of carved Buddha images. The cave allegedly dates back to the 15th century.

Finally, end the day at KyaukKalat (or Water Lake) Monastery. The monastery sits amidst an artificial lake, and it is easy enough to climb up some stairs, with intermittently a small shrine, to get to the top. It's the ideal place for splendid sunset views of the surrounding countryside.

Return to your hotel early evening.

Dinner at the hotel and overnight at Hpa - An.

After breakfast, heads to Hpa-An town hall. Nearby is a small lake with a walkway running through it. Take some nice photos in the morning sunshine with Mt. Zwekabin in the background.

A bit further stop at Lumbini Garden, located at the base of Mt. Zwekabin. It lends itself rather well for some special pictures. There are 1,000 Gangaw trees with rows of similar-styled sitting Buddha statues.

Lunch at the local restaurant.

Overland drive back to Yangon (estimate +/- 5 hours).

Transfer to your hotel.
