Myanmar is considered as a new World winemaker.. With 2 major vineyards in the Shan State, Myanmar has made all the efforts to harvest the fruit of their labour and create unique brands . As the oldest vineyard being established in 1999, AYTHAYA is located on the western slopes of the city of Taunggyi. German winemaker are behind the brand made famous for its Sauvignon Blanc white wine, and the red Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. RED MOUNTAIN, situated in the side of Inle lake, is the other brand. Created in 2002 with the help of a French winemaker, it has developed different varieties of wine from the imported wines from France and Spain from the Sauvignonc Blanc, Pinot Noir and Tempranillo to the Muscat and Late Harvest. The forest of Northern Myanmar is unique being the largest remaining contiguous forest in Southeast Asia. The forest includes lowlands, wetlands, coniferous forest and snow covered mountains. It is also home to extraordinary species, some of them protected. You can find tigers, elephants, 1067 species of birds of which 5 are endemic, 92 species of bats, 27 turtle species of which 7 are endemic, 5 species of crocodile, and over 1.169 butterfly species. The Irrawaddy River is home to the Irrawaddy dolphin, also a protected species. The Myanmar federal government officially recorded 841 orchid species.

In 2010, the Myanmar government created a Protected Tiger area as large as the State of Vermont, in the country’s northern forests. The Hukaung Valley Tiger Reserve provides sanctuary to a wide range of species from big cats to small birds and many rare plants and wild orchids.

In and around Inle lake there are opportunities to walk for 2 days through magnificent scenery, meeting locals and sleeping in monasteries before reaching the lake.

Nestled in the mountains of the North, Putao is the mecca for all trekkers. Both the Malika Lodge and the Putao Trekking House propose a variety of treks from the village. These can be combined with rafting.

Myanmar coast extends itself all the way south along the Thai Border and almost to Phuket. Unlike its neighbour, Myanmar has not yet developed its beach and its diving. There are more than 900 islands that are scattered through the Mergui archipelago, most of them inhabited. There are a handful of operators proposing Diving trips, including kayaking and snorkelling. These Tours are available on demand. They are all “liveaboard” experience where you live on board the yacht or sailing boat.

A dive in these pristine waters and you will discover the reefs and natural caves, drop-offs as well as an abundant life under ... from reef fishes, armies of barracuda, tuna to grey or white tip sharks, manta rays, eagle rays and whale sharks... enough to keep every diver satisfied.

You can sail from Myanmar or even from Phuket, Thailand to the archipelago. You will need a minimum of 7 days.

As soon as the British colonised what was then Burma, they created golf courses in different parts of the country. Although the state of the courses could be improved, it is the locations that make them attractive. The most recent Golf course, designed by Gary Player, is situated in the suburbs of Yangon and is the best one in the country. Other courses are situated in Bagan, Mandalay, Mount Popa, Taungyi, Pyin OO Lwin (Maymio).
